Le Mas
This light red wine from Languedoc (France) is a delightful blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan which is produced by the estate’s younger vines. On the nose, pepper, brambly fruits, and thyme are followed by a palate that is full and well-rounded with a smooth juiciness that ends in a long, fresh, and harmonious finish. Descendant of a family that works the vineyard since 1640, Claire Clavel Woman Winemaker strives every day to continue the story of several generations. Supported by her father Denis and by her team of men and women who are the wealth of the business, Claire leads the 80 hectares always looking for more character, authenticity and conviviality.
The vineyard covers 5 municipalities : St Gervais, St Michel d'Euzet, Carsan, Bagnols sur Cèze and St Nazaire and over a hundred parcels. This diversity is a major asset because it enables working on different terroirs and getting different wine characters. Sheltered and protected, St. Gervais is an area of sandy soil, sometimes limestone, where the wines express lightness, with a desire of bringing a smooth feeling.
Engaged in sustainable viticulture, the Domaine Clavel works the vines respecting environment. In line with this philosophy Domaine Clavel joined Terra Vitis in 2010 to guarantees its client transparency, traceability and quality and also certified High Environmental Value.
