Arianna Occhipinti
Arianna Occhipinti is one of Italy’s most influential natural winemakers, based in southeastern Sicily near Vittoria, where she has become a leading voice for expressive wines made with minimal intervention. Since founding her estate in the mid 2000s, she has helped redefine modern Sicilian wine through purity, identity, and a strong connection to the land. Influenced by Mediterranean sea breezes, her vineyards benefit from a warm yet balanced climate that allows for optimal ripening while preserving freshness and aromatic precision. Arianna Occhipinti farms organically, focusing on biodiversity, low yields, and careful manual vineyard work to ensure healthy, expressive fruit. Specializing in indigenous Sicilian varietals such as Frappato, Nero d’Avola, and Albanella, she crafts wines that are elegant, vibrant, and deeply expressive of their origin. Her philosophy in the vineyard and cellar is rooted in respect for natural cycles and a desire to preserve the identity of each grape and parcel. In the cellar, she follows a low-intervention approach, using native yeast fermentations, long macerations for select wines, and minimal sulphur additions. The result is wines that are textured, energetic, and highly expressive, often showing a distinctive balance between finesse and Mediterranean character. At Origine, we feature Arianna Occhipinti as part of our premium Italian selection, highlighting winemakers who combine vision, sustainability, and authenticity. Her wines reflect a modern and vibrant Sicily energy.
