Sophie and François Vidal are the winemakers behind Château La Liquière in Faugères, Languedoc, where they continue a long family legacy dedicated to organic farming, precision, and terroir expression. As a new generation at the estate, they are instrumental in refining the style and elevating the reputation of Faugères wines. Working on the schist rich hillsides of the Faugères appellation, their vineyards benefit from poor, well draining soils and a Mediterranean climate tempered by altitude and night time cooling. This unique environment produces wines with natural freshness, minerality, and structure despite the region’s warm conditions. Specializing in traditional southern varietals such as Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Mourvèdre, Sophie and François Vidal craft wines that are balanced, expressive, and deeply rooted in their terroir. Their vineyard philosophy is certified organic, with a strong focus on biodiversity, low yields, and meticulous manual harvesting. In the cellar, they follow a low intervention approach, using native yeast fermentation, gentle extraction, and carefully controlled aging to preserve purity, finesse, and aromatic precision.
