Calderara Sottana

Calderara Sottana Etna Rosso from the Tenuta delle Terre Nere winery takes its name from the "Calderara Sottana" district, where the vineyards are located and where the Nerello Mascalese grapes for this wine originate in Sicily (Italy). The vineyards are situated approximately 600 meters above sea level and benefit from a unique terroir, known and renowned for being one of the rockiest in the area and is made from grapes sourced from very old vines (between 50 and 100 years old). Alcoholic fermentation occurs in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. After aging for 14 months in barrels and a subsequent period in the bottle, the wine displays a bouquet of red flowers, violets, small fruits, pepper, and graphite. The palate is full-bodied and majestic, with freshness and elegance, spicy and mineral nuances, a long persistence, and a balsamic finish. Excellent for pairing with pork and grilled red meats. Available for deliveries within Metro Manila.
